A New Life, Antonio Armenta

For a long time I lived my life wrongly believing that I could find peace and satisfaction in the things of the world (drugs, alcohol, etc.). However, within me I continued to sense an emptiness. I had heard the gospel before but never felt worthy to obtain the life the Lord promised. I had never gone to a church during my life nor known how to pray. One night, tired of my life, I confessed my sins to the Lord. I asked Him to come to me, to save me, that I would receive Him as my Savior. After my prayer I had a sense of peace within me.

The following day I decided to find a church where I could meet with the other children of God. I asked the Lord that He would let me find His house. For two weeks I dedicated my time to find Christians. I looked for someone who would share the Word with me but I found no one. One day I felt discouraged and at the point of giving up. I thought of dropping my search and returning to my old manner of life. However, while I was waiting for the bus, a sister in the Lord arrived who had taken the wrong bus by mistake at the time when I had just missed mine. We conversed and she spoke the Word to me and invited me to a meeting of the local church. I felt happy that the Lord had heard me.

When I received the Lord as my Savior and began to keep His Word, that word began to grow in me until it changed me inwardly. I began to experience another life within me. The Lord is growing in me! It is a marvelous experience. My thoughts and desires are not the same. Instead, Christ is cleaning them and lives in me. My life is no longer the same. Now I have the life of God in me growing and saving me daily (Romans 5:10). Praise the Lord! His life is in me!

I give thanks to the Lord for the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. By their ministry I have learned to experience all this. I desire to open more to the Lord that He may impart Himself more into me and I may learn to experience all that Christ is, His riches (Ephesians 3:8). Christ is life and peace. Now I can enjoy my new life in Christ.
